No Girls Allowed

Published by Max Q Enterprises

Oh man!!! It's right around the corner...the release of my first book.

Twenty-two years ago I started writing about my life in sports radio, first in journals and post-its and cocktail napkins, then on a word-processor with a retrospective eye. After 20 rejections, 26 months of intense rewriting, and 8 months of really intense re-rewriting, all the sweat and tears are paying off. Next year, summer of 2011, I'll see my life in print and be able to share it with all of you! Oh yeah, baby!!!

The release of my memoir is cathartic for sure, emotional, definitely, but most of all amazing that it's finally a reality! Keep checking in here to find out when
and where my book signings will be throughout the U.S. in 2011. It's
going to be one long year of parties!!!

Top 5 Reasons I'm Rooting (Hard) for the Philadelphia Phillies to Win the
NLCS...

5) Cody Ross was nothing when he played for the Dodgers...twice
4) I'm a Dodger fan (duh)
3) I hate the Giants (which goes without saying, but I'm sayin' it anyway!)
2) They're playing the stinkin' Giants!
1) Anybody but the Giants!!!

Hey there...go Phillies!

I'm hard at work the rewrite of my book, No Girls Allowed: The Jock and Jill
Mentality of Sports Broadcasting. Writing a memoir is a taxing project, mentality and emotionally, mostly because the
story is true, and sometimes the truth is tough to process. I'm giving the reader an inside glimpse of my experiences working in sports, including many years of sports
interviews, on and off the field. I can't believe it's come to this;
I'm finally a published author! I've worked at CBS SportsLine,
SportsFan Radio, Fox Sports Radio and ESPN Radio. I've spent time
covering the World Series, the Super Bowl, the Major League Baseball
Playoffs, the MLB All Star game and World Series, the French Open
Tennis Tournament, the NBA Championships and the NCAA Basketball
Tournament. All of these events (fleshed out with juicy insider details) make cameos in my memoir.
My book contains good stories with cool people, and hard stories with people
who made it difficult to work in, and feel good about, the sports broadcasting business. All
in all, it's a business I love, in spite of the undeniable fact that it's not an easy industry for a woman to thrive in.
Stay tuned for more updates on my writing progress (and process). Hey, I may even post some sneak previews of what's to come!

I'm baaaack!!!

After 30 months off the air and out of sight, I'm back on the radio in
San Luis Obispo, California. I'm doing sports on KVEC Radio 920am
Monday and Friday mornings at 7:10. Currently, I cover local sports, prep football and Cal Poly athletics. It feels great to get back on
the radio talking sports and having fun. I've spent the last 2+ years
writing a book about my 22+ years in sports TV and radio. It's called 'No Girls Allowed' and it will be released sometime at the end of
summer 2011. I'm in the re-writing stage right now with a fabulous
publisher from MaxQ Enterprises. It's fun, challenging and exciting to be a genuine, soon-to-be-published author!
I'll be here blogging more often now to get re-acquainted with the
sports world and to get back to the place I'm most
comfortable...talkin' sports with 'fan'atics like me! Thanks for
checking in once in a while to see if I'm still alive and well, and I
am! Come back periodically; I promise to blog at least once a week and
keep you posted on my journey. Writing projects aside, I ran one leg of an
Olympic/International Triathlon this past weekend at Scott Tinley's
Tri-California weekend. See! Staying active has continued to be a
priority for me! I'm also back in my quad skates with Central Coast
Roller Derby
after 15 weeks on the DL with a broken collarbone. I'm
baaaaaaaack, in more ways than one, thank goodness!
